Amber Hall

Registered Play Therapist

M. Child Play Therapy, B.Ed(ECE)/B.A

Amber lives and plays on Kaurna land. Amber has spent many years supporting children in education settings in a variety of roles, including being a classroom teacher, diversity and engagement team educator and a therapy dog handler. Amber has completed a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood)/Bachelor of Arts, Master of Child Play Therapy and has presented at a range of conferences, including a research project on culturally responsive pedagogy.

For Amber, Play Therapy is the perfect alignment of a personal love of play and creative expression, alongside a passion to support children and families in ways that honour their unique individual journeys.

Amber has worked closely with many children and families who are neurodivergent, working in collaboration to develop neuro-affirming approaches to supporting wellbeing. Amber has worked with children who have developmental delays, speech and language difficulties (including children who use AAC to communicate) and intellectual disability. Amber firmly believes that all children can access and benefit from play. She prides herself on getting to know each child deeply by connecting in ways that work for them. Amber utilises a range of therapeutic approaches, including Humanistic Play Therapy, Filial Therapy and the Learn to Play Program.

When not at work, Amber enjoys play of all kinds: making art, going to the beach and playing netball. She has an assistance dog called Sasha that goes almost everywhere with her and is very fortunate to have 3 children at home who both her, and Sasha, love!
